Bodog stops serving Nova Scotia, its 2nd prohibited province after Quebec gf4f

September 25, 2024 1vn1k

Long-time "grey market" betting site within the Canadian market context, Bodog, has stopped serving customers based in Nova Scotia. Bodog began emailing customers this week, notifying them that new deposits would not be processed and that they should look to withdraw their funds.  Nova Scotia has become the second Canadian provinces that Bodog has made to define as a "Restricted Territory". Quebec was their first prohibited Canadian province.

The order of events here is certainly strange, since Bodog has not yet moved to restrict access to its service for those within Canada's one and only fully legal and regulated igaming jurisdiction - Ontario. Bodog has also not moved to become one of the several legal Ontario betting sites, yet it still serves players based in that province as an illegal, or "black market" provider.

Former Bodog customers in Nova Scotia will certainly be on the look out to at top betting sites for Canada that continue to serve Nova Scotia. Will Bodog move to stop serving Ontario any time soon?  Given their continued media expenditures in the market, we don't see that happening any time soon.
